Turning greener

Ordos is a key land sandification prevention belt in North China and home to the Kubuqi Desert and part of the Mu Us Sandy Land, which account for about 53 percent of the city’s total area. Through implementing important ecological projects, it has worked miracles, turning part of the Kubuqi Desert green.

It was a great challenge to order the numbers, evidence of the progress of this enormous effort to sow in the desert. Convert units, standardize them and then decide how to display this data.
I also find myself with a type of work that I had not faced before. This infographic, already published today, was turned into motion graphics thanks to the work of a great team, part of China Daily.

China Daily

In addition, this data visualization, this central tree map, will be printed on some object of practical use, perhaps a bag. The newspaper usually makes these products that end up being an attractive souvenir to give away and extend the life of this content.

Returning from the land of pandas

Back on the road! And this thanks to China Daily, from Beijing, China.

My first infographic in China Daily. A very nice challenge: a double page infographic on the giant panda. It is not only a very striking species, it is an important emblem of China worldwide, therefore a challenging first topic, what to tell about this nice bear that has been shown so much?

Fortunately, I had advance research by Yan Dongjie, on the process of reintroducing the Panda to the wild, where it belongs. For years this species has been protected and with enough experience in captivity and increasing numbers, it is time to return them to their habitat. This infographic explains the process in one of the sanctuaries that are in charge of it. If even to take care of them you have to dress up as a panda!
